When Narborion Saga Hit Mobile Last Christmas It Failed To Make A Huge Splash Here At Mt. Hexmap, Mainly Due To Its In-Game Currencies And Loads Of IAP. When You Can Pay Tin Man Games Or Inkle Studios Up Front To Get Some Primo Interactive Fiction, Why Bother With The Rigamarole Of Sifting Through An IAP Nightmare. Developer Liber Primus Learned And Released The Second Chapter Of The Narborion Saga Without The Messy IAP, And Now They’re Set To Release A New Saga Onto Our Phones And Tablets. This One Is Based On The Land Fit For Heroestrilogy From Award Winning Author Richard K. Morgan.

Land Fit For Heroes Tells The Story Of Three Heroes Of A Past War That Have Either Been Shunned, Tossed Aside, And Find That They No Longer Fit Within The Society They Fought For During The War. It’s A Fantasy Story, But A Dark One. No Glittering Fairies Or Long-Maned Unicorns In This One. The Gamebook Version Will Let You Play As Any Of The Three Heroes, But Instead Of Following The Original Path, You Can Make Your Own Decisions.

What Sets Land Fit For Heroes Apart From Other Interactive Fiction Is The Option To Play With Friends. That’s Right, It’s A Multiplayer Gamebook In Which Up To Three Players Can Each Choose One Of The Main Characters And Proceed In Their Stories, With Their Decisions Affecting What The Other Players Can Do. I’m Having A Hard Time Wrapping My Head Around How It Will All Work, But It Sounds Like It Could Be Incredibly Cool.

Aside From The Multiplayer, Land Fit For Heroes Will Be One Of The First Gamebooks To Let You Decide Your Character’s Sexual Orientation. Of Course, If You’ve Been Playing Any Of The Choice Of Games Gamebooks, That’s Old Hat. Still, Hooray For More Developers Heading Down This Path.

Land Fit For Heroes Will Be Released On IOS And Android By The End Of October And Will Be Available On PC As Well In December. We Don’t Know, Yet, Whether They’ll Follow The Example Of The Initial Narborion Saga Or The Follow-Up Chapters When It Comes To Pricing. Here’s Hoping We Can Just Pay And Play And There Will Be No IAP In Sight.

Two Trailers For You: A Quick Teaser That Shows Off Some Of The Art And Also A Longer Gameplay Trailer That Really Looks Interesting. Check Them Both Out After The Break.
