Khan Market, Connaught Place And Karol Bagh To Get Free Wi-Fi

Get Free Wi-Fi

Delhiites will soon have another incentive to visit Connaught Place, Khan Market and Karol Bagh. The New Delhi Municipal Council has decided to set up Wi-Fi zones in these markets, with free browsing for the first 15-20 minutes.

The first Wi-Fi zone will be set up at Khan Market by the end of this month. Following this, the project will move to Connaught Place and Karol Bagh.

"Vodafone and Airtel have come together in Khan Market to provide the facility. A 4G network would be available to anyone entering the market. After the first 15-20 minutes, the service will be chargeable," said Sanjiv Mehra, president of the Khan Market Traders Association.

The service providers met the market association and the civic agency and discussed the details of the project.

In Connaught Place, Tata Docomo will cover more than 4km, covering the inner and outer circles. "After taking permission from the Centre, service providers will ensure that security is not compromised and it will be their responsibility to regulate the downloaded data," said Jalaj Srivastava, New Delhi Municipal Council chairperson.

Avinash Gabriel of Tata Docomo said, "The user will have to fill in details such as email ID and mobile number. After that, a one-time password will be received to connect to the internet."
