Report: Google To Launch Search Service To Connect Searchers To Home Service Providers

BuzzFeed reports Google will launch a new service to connect searchers with local plumbers, electricians, contractors and other home service providers.

Buzzfeed News reports Google is reportedly launching later this spring a search service to connect searchers to home-service providers such as plumbers, electricians, gardeners and other home-based service providers.
We reached out to Google for a comment on this story but they have yet to return our reply.
The reports seem to imply that this will be an ad product, similar to the car insurance ads or shopping comparison solutions, but this is not clear.
Buzzfeed said the announcement will be an an “advertising conference” later this spring, where based on the searcher’s query, if there is home-based service intent, the new search service will show up in the search results.
One would suspect this would be deeply integrated into Google My Business, where small businesses can advertise through AdWords based on the type of business they are in and the query the searcher enters into the search box. So plumbers in Google My Business may be able to set a budget to show up for plumbing related keywords and then be connected to the searcher, potentially without even having a web site.
Again, the details are not clear, Google has not confirmed or denied these reports as of yet.
It seems very similar on some level to Amazon Home Services as well as Yelp, Angie List and other home service providers.
